Table 1 represents the demographics for the AH&MS participants highlighted in the analyses in From Short Walks to Long Runs: Embracing all Strides for Marathon Monday who recorded and shared at least one running workout and had filled out a demographic survey in the period studied, November 14, 2019, to January 1, 2024. The BMI categories were defined based on the BMI classification from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Table 5 represents the average weekly distance of marathon runners grouped by their marathon time in the twelve weeks leading up to the run (shown as negative numbers), the week of the marathon (shown as a zero), and the four weeks after (positive numbers). The top 10% of runners had a total time of 3 hours 27 minutes or less; the middle 10% had a total time of 4 hr 31 min to 4 hr 46 min; and the bottom 10% had a total time of 6 hr 5 min or more. Each group represented 127 runners out of the 1272 cohort, and if runners had multiple marathons, the fastest finishing time was chosen.
